Mrs Catherine BrewingtonObserver Governor
Mrs Catherine Brewington
Hi my name is Catherine, I am a mum to two children, both of whom attended Squirrels.
My son is in Year 5 and my daughter left Year 6 in July 2021.
Professionally I am a qualified lawyer, but I am a Mum first and when the opportunity came to join the Governing Board in 2019 I wanted the chance to not only support and give back to my community but also to work with the school to help growth and development in a place where my children spent the majority of their week. Â I am now a Parent Governor and have specific responsibility for Heath & safety, Maths and Literacy.
Since joining the board the school has made some really huge achievements - which has nothing at all to do with me and all to do with the dedicated teachers and staff. Â They have built the Bio-dome which encourages our pupils to always consider their environment and the effect they have on it, the recent sensory garden at the front of the school, which inspires mindfulness and tranquillity, not just for the pupils but for the staff as well and finally in terms of educational achievements last years' Year 4 won the Maths World Cup, a global maths competition, to name but a few!
