Dear Parents / Carers,

We want to ensure that we are providing your child with the best education and support we can. As you may be aware, schools across the country are feeling the pinch of tightened budgets, and it is important for schools to access all available funds to ensure the highest quality of education for all children.

The funding for each year is decided in January, based on the number of children registered for Free School Meals. The more children registered for free school meals, the more funding the school receives.

Where siblings are in the school, occasionally only one of the children has been registered. If you have a child who is registered for free school meals, please check with the office that all other children have been registered.

Registering for free meals could raise an extra £1,320 for the school per child to fund valuable support such as:

Children will also be provided with a free school meal each day. Healthy school food has obvious health benefits and can help pupils establish healthy habits for life. Healthy school food can also help to improve pupils’ readiness to learn.  For parents, this provides a saving of up to £50 per month per child.
